A few things you might be wondering.
-
There’s no hard rule, but once you have a date and venue it’s worth getting in touch. Popular Saturdays tend to book further ahead, while weekday ceremonies can often be arranged with less notice. Just bear in mind that, in most circumstances, I need at least one month’s notice to legally marry you.
-
There’s some paperwork involved, but I’ll guide you through it. You’ll need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage, provide the required identification and documents, and have two witnesses aged 18 or over at the ceremony. There are also a few legal words that need to be said on the day. I take care of making sure all of that happens properly.

The Notice of Intended Marriage — usually just called the NOIM — is the form that formally records your intention to marry. In most circumstances, I need to receive it at least one month before your wedding and no more than 18 months beforehand.
-
No. There are a few legal words you each need to say, but personal vows are entirely up to you. Some couples love them; others would rather not. Either is completely fine.
-
Absolutely. I can help you work out what you want to say, give you some structure and make suggestions without turning them into something that doesn’t sound like you.
-
For a full ceremony, around 20–30 minutes is fairly typical, although there’s no set length. A legal-only ceremony is much shorter — usually around 10 minutes.
-
Of course. There’s plenty of room to make the ceremony your own. Readings, music, family, friends — if there’s something you’d like to include, we can work out how best to make it part of the ceremony.
-
Everything needed to get you legally married, without a full personalised ceremony. I’ll take care of the paperwork and required legal wording; you bring yourselves and two adult witnesses.
-
Yes. I’m Sydney-based, but happy to travel. Depending on the location, there may be an additional travel cost — just let me know where you’re planning to get married when you enquire.

It’s extremely unlikely, but celebrants are human too. If something genuinely prevented me from being there, I’d work with you and my celebrant network to find another authorised celebrant and make the handover as straightforward as possible.
