A little about me.
And why I do this.
Hi, I’m Daniel.
I’ve been a marriage celebrant since 2019, although public speaking has been part of my life for much longer than that.
Over the years I became the person friends and family would ask to give the speech — at weddings, birthdays and, sometimes, funerals. I discovered that I really enjoyed getting to know people’s stories and finding the right way to tell them. Becoming a celebrant seemed like a pretty natural extension of that.
I live in Sydney with my dog, Vinnie. I’m interested in people and psychology, love to travel, and will happily spend far too long finding exactly the right words for something.
As a celebrant, I’m fairly low-key. I’m not there to put on a performance or make myself the centre of your wedding. I want to get to know you, understand what you want from the day, and make sure the ceremony feels like it belongs to you.
Outside of weddings
Vinnie.
My dog, and the undisputed centre of the household.
Curiosity.
I’m studying psychology, mostly because I’m endlessly interested in what makes people tick.
Elsewhere.
I love travelling, particularly somewhere I haven’t been before. Bosnia and Herzegovina is the current unexpected favourite.
Words.
I’ll spend an unreasonable amount of time getting a sentence exactly right.
Enough about me.
If you’re looking for a celebrant who’ll take the time to understand the two of you, write something that sounds like you, and deliver it without making himself the main event, we might be a good fit.
